THERMOCOUPLE PROBES WITH INDUSTRIAL PROTECTION HEADS CHOICES

The Omega NB1-ICIN-INDUST-TC refers to a series of heavy-duty industrial thermocouple assemblies featuring mineral-insulated (MI) probes and a variety of protection heads.

CORE FEATURES

  • MI Cable Construction: Flexible, semi-rigid sheath can be bent into shape for specialized installations.
  • Special Limits of Error (SLE): Manufactured using high-accuracy thermocouple material for minimal drift.
  • Spring-Loaded Options: Available in a spring-loaded configuration (TBSL) to ensure constant contact with thermowells for faster response.

THERMOCOUPLE PROBES WITH INDUSTRIAL PROTECTION HEADS CHOICES

The industrial style assemblies offer a variety of protection heads to meet the environmental and size requirements of most applications. Available in thermocouples J, K, T or E calibrations, with either 304SS or Inconel sheathing (321SS provided on request). Standard lengths are 12″ including 1/2″ for the pipe thread, with other lengths quickly available. Both the thread on the probe and the extension wire opening are 1/2″ NPT. The NB2 and NB4 include a compression fitting nut and rubber ferrule for 1/8″ to 1/4″ O.D. wires or tubing. The internal terminal block is standard on all models. Consult Technical Quotation Dept. for price and delivery on PFA-coated assemblies or a wide variety of non-metallic and other specialized heads.

The “NB1” designation refers to a Cast Iron protection head with a screw-on cover and an internal terminal block. Alternative heads include:

  • NB2: Miniature Aluminum.
  • NB3: Snap-lock Aluminum.
  • NB11: Flip-top Aluminum with IP67 rating for moisture protection.

Specifications

OS1300-SERIES HANDHELD INFRARED THERMOMETER  – KEY SPECIFICATIONS

As of 2026, these assemblies remain standard for demanding industrial environments:

  • Calibration (ICIN): Specifically denotes Type J (Iron-Constantan) thermocouple material with an Inconel® 600 sheath.
  • Sheath Material: Inconel® 600, which offers superior oxidation and corrosion resistance at high temperatures compared to stainless steel.
  • Standard Dimensions: Typically provided in a 12″ length with probe diameters ranging from 1/16″ to 1/4″.
  • Mounting: Features a standard 1/2″ NPT male process connection and a 1/2″ NPT extension wire opening.
  • Junction Type: Usually available as ungrounded (electrically isolated) or grounded.
  • Temperature Range: Type J Inconel probes typically operate up to 720°C (1328°F).
