BAPI DUCT SENSORS

BAPI Duct Sensors are high-precision instruments designed to monitor supply, return, or mixed air temperatures and air quality within HVAC ductwork.

Single Point Duct Units feature closed cell foam to seal the probe insertion hole and to absorb vibration. Mounting tabs allow for easy installation directly to the wall of the duct. All Duct Units have etched Teflon leadwires and double encapsulated sensors to create a watertight package that can withstand high humidity and condensation and perform under real world conditions. Duct Units have probe lengths from 2” to 18” to accommodate most duct shapes and sizes. Custom probe lengths are also available.

Duct Units come standard with a 2”x2” steel J-Box but are also available with no box, the BAPI-Box, the BAPI-Box 2 or the BAPI-Box Crossover enclosures.

 

BAPI DUCT SENSORS

As of today, BAPI duct sensors remain a standard for building automation due to their rugged, moisture-resistant design:

  • Watertight Protection: Sensors are double-encapsulated and feature etched Teflon lead wires to withstand high humidity and condensation.
  • Durable Housing: Available in various enclosure styles, including the IP66-rated BAPI-Box and BAPI-Box 2, made of UV-resistant polycarbonate for harsh environments.
  • Versatile Probes: Standard 304 Stainless Steel probes range from 4″ to 18″ (100mm to 450mm), with custom lengths available.
  • Easy Installation: Units include a closed-cell foam backing to seal the insertion hole and mounting tabs for direct attachment to duct walls.
  • Sensing Options: Compatible with various RTDs (100Ω or 1000Ω Platinum) and Thermistors (10K-2, 10K-3, 20K) to ensure compatibility with most Building Automation Systems (BAS).

  • Accuracy: Standard thermistor accuracy is ±0.36°F (0.2°C), while RTDs typically offer ±0.55°F (0.30°C).
  • Operating Range: Standard temperature range of 32° to 158°F (0° to 70°C), with wider limits available for extreme conditions.
  • Wireless Capability: Some models transmit data via Bluetooth Low Energy for integration with wireless gateways.
  • Warranty: Most passive temperature sensors feature a limited lifetime warranty.
